Shriya Saran

Shriya Saran has worked in several of the regional industries of Indian cinema, having acted in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi language films, as well as a few films in English. Saran made her film debut in 2001 with the Telugu film Ishtam, and had her first commercial success with Santhosham (2002). She subsequently appeared in several more Telugu films, while making in-roads in the Hindi and Tamil film industries. In 2007, Saran starred in Sivaji: The Boss, the highest grossing Tamil film at that time. She also gained critical acclaim for her role in the 2007 Bollywood film Awarapan. Her following projects included popular films such as Kanthaswamy (2009) in Tamil, and Pokkiri Raja (2010) in Malayalam, her roles in which have established her as one of the leading actresses in the South Indian film industries. In 2004, Saran acted in two Hindi and two Telugu films, including Nenunnanu, where she played a student in classical singing. She had ten 2005 releases, nine of which were Telugu films, the most notable for her being Chatrapathi. There she appeared opposite Prabhas, and earned her first nomination for the Filmfare Best Telugu Actress Award. In 2003, Saran hosted the 50th Filmfare South Award with actor R. Madhavan.She was a part of Tamil director Mani Ratnam's stage show, Netru, Indru, Naalai, an event which sought to raise funds for The Banyan, a voluntary organisation which rehabilitates homeless women with mental illness in Chennai.She was one of the guests alongside actor Surya Sivakumar at the season 3 finale of TV dance show Maanada Mayilada

Anurag Singh Kashyap

Anurag Singh Kashyap is an Indian film director and screenwriter. Kashyap made his directorial debut with as yet unreleased Paanch , with Kay Kay Menon as the lead. As a filmmaker, he is known for Black Friday (2004), a controversial and award-winning Hindi film about the 1993 Bombay bombings, followed by No Smoking (2007), Dev D (2009) Gulaal (2009) That Girl in Yellow Boots (2011) and Gangs of Wasseypur (2012). As a screenwriter, he wrote the scripts for the Filmfare Award-winning Satya (1998) and the Academy Award-nominated Canadian film Water (2005). In 1999, Kashyap won the Best Screenplay award for Satya at the Star Screen Awards. The next year, his short film Last Train to Mahakali won the Special Jury Award at the same awards.His feature film debut Black Friday won the Grand Jury Prize at the 3rd Annual Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (2005),and was a nominee for the "Golden Leopard" (Best Film) at the 57th Locarno International Film Festival (2004).In 2010, he announced his association withTumbhi where he and his team will make six short films for Tumbhi and start his blog with them, as wellHe was listed on the The DNA power list: Top 50 influentials, a list of 50 most influential Indians in 2011.Kashyap currently serves on the board of Mumbai-based NGO, Aangan Trust, which helps protect vulnerable children around India.

Akshay Kumar

Akshay Kumar has appeared in over a hundred Hindi films. He has been nominated for Filmfare Award several times and won two times. Asha Bhosle

Asha Bhosleis best known as a playback singer in Hindi cinema, although she has a wider repertoire.Bhosle's career started in 1943 and has spanned over six decades. She has done playback singing for over a thousand Bollywood movies. In addition, she has recorded several private albums and participated in numerous solo concerts in India and abroad^. Bhosle is the sister of playback singer Lata Mangeshkar. Renowned for her voice range and often credited for her versatility,^[2][7][8] Bhosle's work includes film music, pop, ghazals, bhajans, traditional Indian classical music, folk songs, qawwalis, and Rabindra Sangeets. Apart from Hindi, she has sung in over 20 Indian and foreign languages.In 2006, Asha Bhosle stated that she had sung over 12,000 songs,a figure repeated by several other sources.The World Records Academy, an international organization which certifies world records, recognised her as the "Most Recorded Artist" in the world, in September 2009. In 2011 she was officially acknowledged by the Guinness Book of World Records as the most recorded artist in music history.

Rakesh Roshan

Rakesh Roshan is a producer, director and former actor in Bollywood films who was born in a Hindi Punjabi. Roshan is known for directing films with titles beginning with a "k".Roshan's father was the Bollywood music director Roshan, and his younger brother, Rajesh Roshan, is also a music director. Rakesh is married to Pinky, daughter of director J. Om Prakash. His son, Hrithik Roshan, is also an actor. Roshan also has a daughter, Sunaina. Roshan started his career as an actor making his debut in the 1970 film Ghar Ghar Ki Kahani. He acted in over 60 films throughout the 1970s, 1980s and early 1990s. Roshan set up his own production company Filmkraft in 1980 and their first production was Aap Ke Deewane (1980). He made his directorial debut with Khudgarz (1987) and went onto direct several box office hits such as Kishen Kanhaiya (1990) and Karan Arjun (1995). He launched his son Hrithik's career as an actor with Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai (2000). This film, the highest grosser of 2000, entered the Limca Book of Records for the most number of awards won by a Bollywood film. He directed his son again in the 2003 science fiction film Koi... Mil Gaya, which fetched him the Filmfare award 2004 for best director.

Rishi Kapoor

Rishi Kapoor born in south mumbai, Kapoor is the second son of film director and star Raj Kapoor. Rishi Kapoor debuted in his father's 1970 film Mera Naam Joker, playing his father's role as a child. Rishi Kapoor had his first lead role opposite Dimple Kapadia in the popular 1973 film Bobby which became an instant hit among youngsters. In 2007, he acted as the gangster Maya Dolas in the multi-starrer, Shootout at Lokhandwala, In 2010, he appeared in Prince, which received a good response from the crowd.^[11][12] In the same year, he appeared in Ram Gopal Varma's Rakht Charitra. Oberoi was awarded the Red and White Bravery Award in 2006 for helping re-build a village which was hit severely by the Tsunami. Oberoi, at the age of 28, was in Chennai when disaster struck and assembled six truckloads of relief supplies and also adopted a tsunami-ravaged village in the Cuddalore district of Tamil Nadu.

Sadhana

Sadhana is an Indian Bollywood actress who was one of the top stars in the 1960s and the early 1970s. Beside becoming the fashion icon for young Indian girls with her specific hair style, still known as "Sadhana cut", she became famous as Mystery Girl with her three suspense thriller films namely Woh Kaun Thi? (1964), Mera Saaya (1966) and Anita (1967), all directed by Raj Khosla. Shivdasani was nominated for prestigious Filmfare Award for Best Actress for film Woh Kaun Thi? and Waqt in 1965 and 1966. She took retirement from films in mid 1970s before which she also directed and co-produced few films. Sadhana aspired to be an actress from childhood. Her father helped her enter films. In 1955 she played a chorus girl in the song "Eechak Dana Beechak Dana" in Raj Kapoor's Shree 420^. When she was 15 years old, she was discovered by some producers who had seen her act in a college play. Alongside Love in Simla, Shivdasani was signed by acclaimed director Bimal Roy for his satirical film on Indian democracy, Parakh. She portrayed a simple village girl's role in this multi-award winning film. In 1961's another "Hit"film Hum Dono she played the love interest of Dev Anand. This black-and-white film was colourized and re-released in 2011. For her contribution towards the film industry, she was awarded with a Lifetime Achievement Award by International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) in 2002.

It was in the year 2000 that Kapoor worked with Amir Raza Hussein once again when he became part of the largest theatrical show in India, compromising of 140 actors. The show ran for 10 days in New Delhi as a tribute to the heroes of the Kargil War. Ram played five different characters with aplomb, the show was called The Fifty Days of War-Kargil.This was Kapoor's first and only theater experience. Due to the huge commercial success of Swayamwar 1 (Rakhi Ka Swayamwar),Kapoor was reassigned to host Swayamwar 2 (Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega).
